Philosophy

At Garden State Lacrosse Academy we employ a four pillar approach to ensure the growth of each player both on and off the field.

Player Development

Garden State Lacrosse Academy will bring your child to the next level by focusing on fundamentals and improving lacrosse IQ. Our academy approach compares practice to school, training at home to homework, and tournaments to tests. Concentrating on fundamentals during practice coupled with at home wall ball and training programs will lead to success during "tests" on and off the field.

Family Oriented

GSLA is dedicated to making each player a part of our family. We pride ourselves in getting to know the players and making our best effort to improve them within the team concept. Players come from numerous towns but when they step on the field, they are no longer rivals but teammates. These relationships will last through their years with GSLA and into their college careers and beyond.

Practice

Our practices are broken down into four sections; warm-up, skill progression, lacrosse IQ, and scrimmage.  Instead of spending hours on plays specific to our program, we teach offensive and defensive concepts that will translate to their recreational, high school, or college teams.  By simplifying the game of lacrosse, we help players truly understand how to improve.

Competition

To be the best, you need to beat the best.  We want to play the best teams to help expedite the improvement of the players.  Recognizing the great talent that resides on the east coast, we schedule our tournaments with both location and competition in mind, targeting the tri-state area when possible.
