My Lacrosse Story
I entered Marywood University in August of 2011 with the intent of playing lacrosse. After trying out in the fall and not making the team, I was faced with three options. I could give up the game I love, transfer to another school, or make the proper improvements to make the team. I decided to spend the next year and a half working as hard and as smart as possible to improve my game. 492 days after being cut, I started in my first college game and scored my first collegiate goal. I also went on to become an all-conference player and hold multiple records.
When I was first cut, I blamed the coaches for not evaluating me properly and thought I was better than other players. Looking back, I do not think I initially had the skills and talent to play as a freshman but with a passion for the game, I created an opportunity.
"Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming." -John Wooden
